Purple Passion

I don't know when it happened or why, but I have an obsession with the color purple. No, I haven't painted my entire house in shades of lavender nor am I only wearing purple or dyed my hair to match. Just certain objects - art, jewelry, home decor - catch my eye and I'm in love.

This is how I felt about the Chunky Amethyst Necklace, one of the pieces from Capital City Craft Studio.

I discovered Capital City Craft Studio through a joint team effort on ETSY - we get to promote each other through blogging and forum posts and collaborating on a set of coordinating items to sell in both shops.

CHUNKY AMETHYST NECKLACE

Pale chunky amethyst beads are combined with plain and faceted freshwater pearls, sterling accent beads and amethyst rondelles.

Periwinkle Studio

I first discovered Periwinkle Studio when I was asked to assist with a redesign of their banner. After their banner design, I created their mini brochure. Working with the photographs in creating their graphics, I fell head over heels in love with this shop. The dichroic glass designs are too beautiful to put into words.

According to her profile on her website at Periwinklesuz:

• I throughly enjoy creating mini works of art by fusing dichroic glass in my kiln and adding silver to it. I think it is wonderful to wear something that is unique, one of a kind and specially made.
• I love the beautiful colors and the surprises I get when I fuse it in my kiln. I make everything in my home studio with the utmost care and attention. Each piece is individually made and no two will ever be the same. Everything is fused, annealed for strength and fire polished. I use proper techniques and compatible glass to ensure a lifetime of enjoyment and durability.
  
• I am a perfectionist and won't sell anything that isn't carefully made. I believe the quality and craftsmanship says a lot about who we are and I want mine to be the best that I can do!

Lilac Treasure Fused Dichroic Glass




Lilac treasure is just that, a treasure of sparkling goodness.

The more you look, the more you see. It is mostly a beautiful lilac color with hints of pink and blue.

It is a smaller pendant for those who like a more dainty look.

It measures a teensy bit over 1/2 in. square (not including the silver bail) and comes with a satin cord.
